NUVU [ the innovation school ]
I spent the freshman and sophomore summers taking hands-on studios at NuVu, The Cambridge School for Innovation. I took studios in creative engineering, innovation, and entrepreneurship, for example Flying Bots, Wearable Technology, and Social Robots. I worked in a team of 2-3 students to come up with creative innovative solutions to problems and collaborate on ideas. I learned how to iterate in both my idea and the design based on the feedback from NuVu coaches. To realize my ideas, I learned skills in prototyping, 3D modeling, digital fabrication, Arduino, and electronics. My “Angle Head" project - a wearable GPS antenna allowing pedestrians to navigate safely around the city and prevent accidents - was highlighted on NuVu’s website and used in educators’ presentations as an example of innovation, prototyping, and presentation.
